Hi,

I have a Galaxy 1.9 TDI 115 hp of 2002 and I got the error P1666, reading the forum it seams that I have to replace the injector wiring loom and for that I have to remove the cover of the engine, rigth?

But I found a problem I'm not able to remove the screw of rigth side on the back, see the picture in attach.

I appreciate help from someone that already did this job to explain me how to remove this screw.

A fewways of doing this both horrible!

Remove the egr valve behind to gain access (total pig!)

Or as I did remove it with a short spanner from under the egr valve (yes it horrible andyes I lost count of the number of times I dropped it!)

Hi,

Thanks for your replies, I did the job last weekend.

I have made this tool, I soldered to a screwdriver a socket wrench 10 and the bolt was easily removed without remove anything more but anyway with a few swearwords :-)

And better I solved the problem, for now, only by cleaning the plugs of the injector wiring loom.

Ha ha...just noticed this thread...I had to deal with that bugger ( no 8 i think) when fixing my fuel injector last year. The most stupid piece of engine design I have ever seen. As I recall, I had to use a small 10mm socket with a variety of mini extension bars and small spanner. Getting the socket to sit on the bolt head using the tips of two fingers, and dropping it 270 times in the process nearly brought on a coronary and I invented 67 new swear words.

Hi to everybody! I couldn't figure out how to remove EGR valve, because one screw of EGR valve is also impossible to reach. However, I used a regular 10mm spanner to remove the rocker cover screw. Before that I removed part of the intercooler pipework.
